Stanford What Matters Essay Mistake #1 – No Functional Experience

I was writing the What Matters Essays for F1GMAT’s Stanford MBA Essay Guide and noticed a pattern that I want to share with you.

The first version of the Stanford MBA What Matters essays are often extremely idealistic or extremely analytical with a growth narrative included in it.

Although the idealistic narrative sounds like a naïve interpretation of what the world could be, often change happens from visionaries who start with such naive interpretations. An idealistic essay is not a bad strategy. It is when you don’t allocate enough words to demonstrate your previous attempts at solving a similar problem that an idealistic narrative sounds unrealistic.
